Research Community
Wharton Interactive is part of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, the world's oldest collegiate school of business. Our goal is to improve teaching, learning, and scholarship by advancing research in interactive pedagogy. We approach this mission in multiple ways:
- As a publishing platform for scholars who want to turn their research into active teaching experiences. Our products draw from the work of the Wharton School's over 240 faculty members, as well as other scholars from around the world, helping turn academic insights into student learning.
- As a center for research into pedagogy and learning. Our products are based on the most recent findings about how to teach using interactive tools, simulations, and games. We have published books and papers on the subject of interactive education, and are dedicated to finding ways to share appropriate data and findings with other scholars interested in advancing the state of learning scholarship.
- As a resource for instructors. Our tools and articles are written to ensure that we are always transparent about the educational and research basis for our teaching methods, helping instructors improve their approaches to teaching using the latest evidence.
- As a provider of open source tools. Wharton Interactive's SIMPL is a free open-source development platform for games and simulations.
