A unique single-player experience that teaches you how to assess innovative ideas and ventures

Available March, 2021

BlueSky Ventures is a 90-minute single-player game that asks players to provide advice to a group of computer-controlled investors about potential opportunities. You will need to carefully navigate the complex situation, ultimately evaluating multiple companies to understand which ones have the highest potential to succeed. Using Wharton’s Alternate Reality Courseware (ARC), you will apply realistic tools to explore the potential of these ventures and examine the teams behind the business cases. Participants will learn how to identify what innovative ideas show promise, and how to analyze the chance of success for breakthrough concepts.

The ARC platform turns experience into learning before, during, and after the game. Introductory lecture videos and content help support your understanding of a variety of proven techniques for assessing innovative ideas. As you play the game, ARC automatically provides custom feedback to help you improve your performance, and the game dynamically adjusts to your experience level, allowing it to serve both beginners and more advanced learners. At the end of the game, you will receive detailed, customized reports on your performance, as well as take-aways that continue the learning process.

BlueSky is also designed to be an introductory experience to the more advanced 3-week Entrepreneurship Game multiplayer game, which puts learners in the role of founders making strategic and entrepreneurial decisions, as well as the Corporate Innovation Game, which teaches how to develop new ideas inside of organizations.
