Invited Teaching Assistant (TA) Support

My instructor invited me to his class as a TA. How do I join?

Your instructor will send you a link to enroll in the class as an assistant. When you follow this link, you’ll be taken to a page that says, “You have been invited to a class." Make sure the name of the class is correct. At the bottom of the page, click the Login/Sign up to enroll button.

If you already have an account, please log in. If not, sign up for an account. After you sign up for an account, make sure to check your inbox for a verification email. Click Confirm my email address. Once you log in/create your account, you will see the “You have been invited to a class” screen. Now, click the Enroll me! button.

At this time, you’ll need to ask your instructor to confirm you as an assistant in the class by going to their My Interactive dashboard, clicking the Manage button, and then clicking the Instructors tab. There, they will see one assistant awaiting approval. They will need to click the drop-down arrow to show your name. They will then click the check box next to your name and click the Yes, approve button. You will then be able to see the class on your My Interactive dashboard.

I followed the link from the instructor and enrolled in the class, but I cannot yet see the class. What does my instructor need to do to confirm me as their assistant?

Your instructor will need to approve you as an assistant before you can see the class. If they have not yet approved you, you will see a message saying, "You have been invited to be an assistant instructor on a class. Please wait for the class instructor to confirm your request to join as an assistant."

To approve you, your instructor will need to go to their My Interactive dashboard, click the Manage button, and then click the Instructors tab. There, they will see one assistant awaiting approval. They will need to click the drop-down arrow to show your name. They will then click the check box next to your name and click the Yes, approve button.

If you still cannot see the class, please contact the Wharton Interactive support team.

Do I need to create an account to enroll in the class as a TA?

You will need to create an account on the Wharton Interactive website to enroll in the class as a TA.

Do I need to pay for my instructor’s learner pay class if I’m their TA?

You will not have to pay for the experience if you are a TA. If you are prompted to make a purchase, it’s possible that the instructor sent the Learner link instead of the Assistant link. Ask them to resend the correct link.

Where can I see all the classes in which I’m a TA?

Once you have created an account and enrolled in the class, and your instructor has approved you as the class' TA, you can view the class on your My Interactive dashboard. To get to the dashboard, click on My Interactive at the top right of the page.

Can I view the experience resources as a TA?

You will have access to all the same experience resources as the instructor.

What level of access do I have as a TA?

As a TA, you will have the same access as the instructor. You’ll be able to view the experience resources, manage the class details, and invite learners and additional TAs. You’ll also have the same level of access within the experience itself to set up, edit the settings, and start and manage the game.

Can I invite students to a class as a TA on behalf of my professor?

Yes. To invite students to the class, go to your My Interactive dashboard. From there, you’ll click the Invite button. You will see two tabs open; one for Learners and one for Assistants. To invite a learner, click the Learners tab. Click Copy link and send the link to the student.

Can I make changes to the class on behalf of my Instructor?

Yes; go to the My Interactive dashboard. Click the Manage button under the class you’d like to make changes to. From the Manage class screen, you’ll be able to make changes to the class name, start and end dates, or the name(s) of the educator(s).

I was a TA in a class, but now I am a learner. Can I use the same account?

Yes, you can use the same account. After you’ve purchased or signed up for an individual learner experience, or have been invited to a different class as a learner, you’ll see two tabs on your My Interactive dashboard: My experiences and My classes.

Your experiences as an individual or invited learner will be under My experiences. The classes to which you’ve been invited as a TA will be under My classes. Within the My experiences tab, the experiences you’ve purchased as an individual learner will be differentiated from the classes you’ve been invited to as a learner with the title of “Personal learning.”
